End of Holy Week

This Holy Week, I’m posting brief daily reflections inspired by some famous (or not so famous) statues. Today’s statue is The Pieta (The Pity), created by Michelangelo Buonarroti in 1498-1499. It shows the body of Jesus on the lap of his mother Mary after the crucifixion. Rather than flood you with historical details, I’ll leave you to reflect on this picture on your own.
