What the Cross Really Does

Hello friends! Pictured is a small card/bookmark which contains a poem. This poem is anonymous, and goes as follows: The Cross in my Pocket I carry a cross in my pocket, a simple reminder to me. Of the fact that I am a Christian no matter where I may be. This little cross is not magic; nor is it a good luck charm. It isn’t meant to protect me from every physical harm. It’s not identification for all the world to see. It’s simply an understanding, between my Savior and me. When I put my hand in my pocket, to bring out a coin or key, The cross is there to remind me of the price he paid for me. It reminds me too to be thankful for my blessings day by day. Worship 10/11/2020

Hi All. Thank you for joining us in worship from wherever you are. Here is today's link: Grace, Peace, & Strength to you all, Pastor Steph

Quail! (a mid-week devotion from Pastor Steph) Once upon a time, way, way back in the 11th chapter of Numbers, people were complaining. Ok, people were complaining way before that, but for the purposes of our story today, they were specifically complaining in Numbers 11. About what, you ask? Well, it seems that as the people wandered in the wilderness, being led by God in a pillar of fire and fed by God with manna from heaven, the people got – bored. Whiny. Annoying. Rather than being thankful that God was leading and feeding them, they remembered that when they were slaves in Egypt they sometimes had onions and fish and garlic… and they complained. God heard their complaint and provided Qua

Message for 10/4

Hi friends... Because I, Pastor Steph, had a head cold & testing wasn’t available, we decided out of a great abundance of caution to hold services online only this week. 1st don’t worry – I’m sure I’m fine – we’re being super-careful. Now, on to the real message at hand… Here is a link to prayers and this week’s message. Music from Jim P will be played sometime in the future. Message Link: Also, remember to check out our Shutter Art Project, and to bid on your favorite shutter, artist, or charity! Find that link here: Stay well all, and know you are loved! Grace & Hope, Pastor Steph

Recycle, Create, Share!

FBC's Shutter Project! Last summer, the First Baptist Church of Westwood replaced the aging wooden shutters on its historic meetinghouse.  Rather than throwing away the shutters that were still intact, the church invited artists to take a shutter and decorate it in any manner they chose. These decorated shutters, pictured here on our website, will be auctioned off in a silent auction during the month of October. Bidding opens at 12:01 am on October 1, and closes at 11:59 pm on October 31. People can submit their bid(s) through the bidding form. Bids will be updated no less than once a day. After the bidding closes on October 31, the shutters will be awarded to the highest bidders.  The p
