Volunteer, Volunteer, everybody Volunteer
Hi all.
Sunday, at our quarterly business meeting, we presented a new way of church government that is being proposed for 2020. In brief, if approved at our winter annual meeting, we will go from a series of boards (requiring 51 people) to a single board (of 13 people). The way for this to work is for everyone (not just the 13) to volunteer to serve in various capacities at the church.
Today, this already happened. Trustee member Bob Wood needed to get something fixed here in the church kitchen. He called upon John Lewis, who is not on a board but who knows fixing-stuff, and together they got the job done. It was a beautiful thing.
Now, it’s your turn. Below is a volunteer sheet. Please fill it in and return it to the church by Thanksgiving. Give prayerful consideration about how you are already serving and where you want to serve. Remember, ALL of us are needed. When we all participate, the burden is light.
